The battery is surprisingly preserved, with a few guns still intact. Aside from the battery and the tourists, the area is quite deserted and lovely. It makes for a nice, if solemn, walk.

One of the most impressive sites we've visited in Normandy. The in tact bunkers and artillery provide a great historical perspective how it must have been in June 1944. The views towards Gold beach are impressive!

A pretty large area consisting of several bunkers that held ammunition, mortar bunkers, machine gun spots, a bunker that was used for reconnaissance and giving the orders towards the big guns, and of course the huge well preserved big guns.
Everything is freely accessible and there is a parking lot close to it. Not too much space there though. There is also a small store and some several toilets.

Very cool site and less heavily trafficked than many in Normandy. Quite worth a stop if you're driving through or planning a tour.

We really enjoyed our visit. Hitting the guide was great too. You will not only see a well kept battery of guns but the actual guns are still there.
Worth a visit.

Allow yourself an hour and a half to take it all in.

As an aside, finding the battery took a little time, but is worth the effort. If you start out down a gravel track, you've gone wrong. The correct turning is a few hundred yards further.

Mother nature has been allowed to reclaim where possible, but access to visitors is not in any way restricted by any significant degree.

The guns themselves are staggering, and all but one of the bunkers are in remarkable shape.

We visited expecting to be able to view some of the old coastal guns. We were not expecting such a vast, and moving experience.

We'll worth a visit if you are in the area for historical reasons. Very evocative place. Free too. Car park small so I'd suggest getting there early if it's the school holidays.
