i am not over the moon about berthillon's ice cream, especially after having gelato for 3 times a day for 4 days in rome (and other parts of italy).

In general I've found that each Country has their own twist on the traditional menu, and although the UK's menu was the same as in the US they did have "Fish Fingers" aka Fish Sticks, so I didn't bother reviewing thereD's in London.... but France didn't disappoint. BUT THE PRICES!!!!!!

what was nice and delightful was the waffle cone ice cream came with. it tasted like a real liege waffle, only thinner and sweeter.

the original shop on st louis island is undeniably cute and old and crowded. however, ice cream i tried did not impress me as much as the store itself. i picked melon and raspberry flavors and could not even finish without some major help from the hubby. i was expecting creamy and smooth texture with lots of fruity taste, but it was rather icy and bland. honestly, my americanized taste buds prefer haagen-dazs' coffee or strawberry ice cream much more than berthillon's
