Upon arrival,the valet took my car and I didn't need it again until I left Aix for other parts of Provence. The hotel is up a slight hill and a few blocks from the frenetic pace of the town,which I preferred. I would walk into town every morning,have a wonderful croissant and cafe au lait and walk for miles,taking it all in ( and doing more than a bit of shopping while sightseeing.)

In June 2014, I had the great and unexpected pleasure of spending three nights at Villa Gallici as I toured Aix en Provence. The online pictures hardly did it justice,as this hotel experience was top shelf in every regard.

My room was two full stories,with the second floor, a gigantic bathroom filled with wonderful local bath products. My room was in a quite area which was gated so I could sit on a lounge chair and inhale the aroma of the soon to blossom lavender. When I felt like being more social,I went down to the pool area ,which is near the outside dining area. The one dinner I had there was superb.

Fantastic place to stay. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The rooms were really unique.

Several days a week the town has open air markets which were so much fun to peruse, and since the region is known for its fabric,I bought some table cloths as well as plenty of lavender- scented products.

Amazing place

If you have the opportunity to visit Aix and stay at Villa Gallici,you will fall in love with it and will find it hard to leave. Returning is on my bucket list.

We had a nice diner, lovely terrasse, thoughtful staff but food over priced (+100€pp) for the quality. You can find better restaurants in Aix
