Nice place to stay and pic-nic. But frequentation is not that good (even with the ton of policem going around all day long). Try to avoid at night

Beautiful and big park in the city center near the place of the comedy and all the activities. Good place to hang out with friends.

L'esplanade is really nice just don't eat there is very expensive. Typical tourist trap

Must visit for Montpellier. Street performers, cafes, restaurants and a great central starting point for exploring the tiny streets filled with shops.

One of the serene places yet close to the center. Great place to have fun with family and friends. A wide-open lush green park with a pond filled with ducks and goose :) Adjacent to it is a nice kid's recreation place. Time-to-time,the city host's many events next to the park which is great.!

Its a nice esplanade / park. It has some nice kiosks and restaurants, fountains, a pavilion with free art exibitions and its located in the middle of the city. There is loads of shade!

Nice public space to stroll with few restaurants and bars on one side. The only negative thing about the Esplanade is the concentration of traveling hobos and their dogs, the homeless and undesirable characters.

Loovely place, don't miss out on the regular market/festival that is held here every Friday throughout the summer. An incredible atmosphere, the most striking thing for a Scandinavian like me is that everyone walks around with each their (real glass!) small wine glass and just enjoy life. There's a wide variety of food at the stands, crepes, seafood, grill, international, ham, etc. Wine is a given. And of course live music here and there. All in all an impressive set up and I highly recommend it.
