Ok, so... I picked this one out of a travel guide. I HATED all of the other recommendations, but Hugo et Victor was a total hands down win.

Used to order cakes at Pierre Herme and Fauchon, I have tried Hugo et Victor for the first time. I ordered a strawberry cake 2 days in advance. Today I went to pick it up, but unfortunately it was sold to someone. Not to be trusted. It may be good, but definitely doesn't deserve my money.

Great Appearance very elegant that was ruined by an arrogant salesperson with a bad attitude and mediocre tasty expensive cakes. If the cakes only tasted as good as they looked.... Go there to look and cross the street to Gerard Mulot for a great taste experience.

most modern yet elegant pastry experience in Paris! Any of the tarts are excellent and the praline escargot pastry is the ultimate breakfast item. a must go for all pastry lovers!

These pastries are rich, chocolatey and filled with finesse. Best to try one of each kind, from the chocolate versions to the fruitier ones.

Was told to try their financiers. Sweet, buttery, moist, but not light. Almond flavor isn't at all obvious. Idk if it's worth paying almost 10€ for 4 financiers... magic didn't happen.

My favourite chocolatier in Paris. They're mantra is "sugar is a seasoning, not an ingredient." So flavors dominate over sweetness.
