I know this review is at odds with others here - but just trying to be objective and fair. No axe to grind - love France - just not this place.

The grounds are simply second-rate and are not well-cared for. The lawns are mowed but have weeds in them. Topiary hedges out the back were last trimmed ages ago and are ugly. Some weeds in the gardens are literally one meter high.

Wonderful castle. Richly restored and an impressive collection of miniature furniture. Lovely gardens. This spot is worth to be visited

For non-French speaking visitors, it is difficult to find your way around the grounds. The direction signs are totally inadequate and the information signs are all in French only. There is an English-language paper-based guide folder for the Chateau itself - but nothing for the rest of the site. If you want a map to find your way around, it costs an extra €2 - on top of the €11 you paid to get in.

Excellent.

All the water-features and ponds/lakes are disgustingly filthy and stagnant with dead vegetation floating in them. Look like they are never cleaned.

An €11 entry price is really 'up there' compared to most other similar places we have visited in France.

We had high expectations for this visit and it could, and should, have been great. It turned out to be a real disappointment. Very sad.

Had a wonderful visit at this well-presented site. Made a great day with family out of it. Highly recommended to all.

Expensive/overpriced and run-down. The chateau itself is sort of OK but is not well-presented - eg all the electric faux-candles are wonky in their stands, as if someone doesn't really care.

If you have an expensive attraction that purports to show the grandeur of 18th-century high-society French country life, it needs to be very well-presented. Unfortunately this place just looks tired, run-down and uncared-for.
