In this two-hotel town this is the one to stay at! The proprietors have been running it since the 1950s, which in France means that it still retains a solid reputation! Don't let the age of the building put you off, it has an excellent location, and the has the best place to eat in town for classic country French food. We scouted out the other restaurants near by and were disappointed to learn that they both served the same thing as the main course, chili con carne, so if you want an authentic French experience stay and eat at Hotel de France. The rooms were last renovated in the 1980s but they are clean and in good shape. Ask to look out over the river, it's enchanting! The thermal baths are also about 100 metres from the hotel to perfect to stumble to and from.
